What the field observations show
These are observed beach surf classes. They are not derived from offshore model wave heights.
Recent H7 observations
Calibration evidence
Median archived offshore wave height when the corresponding H7 beach observation was recorded. This measures association, not breaking-wave height accuracy.
Small sample sizes and repeated observations of the same weather event limit conclusions. No model skill score has been approved.
Data integrity
Published from the GitHub forecast archive via Cloudflare Pages. H7 observations and calibration are not yet connected to this feed. Forecast retrieval time is distinct from model initialization time. Displayed wind speed and wave height are unit conversions of the source data, not recalibrated predictions.
